Patient Check-In with VaxCare-Athena

Workflow starts with scheduling your patients in Athena, just as you do now. Simply follow the Athena pathway for Patient Registration: Check-In, Intake, Exam, Sign-off, and Check-Out. 

The "Check-In" section will update the VaxCare Scheduler, which is where the vaccination process really begins.

The "Exam" section is generally part of the clinical workflow and will add the vaccine orders to the VaxHub.

For VaxCare’s Scheduler to receive demographic information, Athena demographic and insurance fields must be completed. Once the information is entered and saved in Athena, updated information will be sent to the VaxCare Scheduler automatically.

Each time a patient is added to Athena’s schedule, the same appointment is added to the VaxCare Scheduler. When a patient appointment is rescheduled in Athena, that change is reflected in the Scheduler as well. 

Any time a change occurs in a patient's appointment information, changes should be made in Athena, not in VaxCare. Information flows in one direction from Athena to the VaxCare Scheduler, not the other way around.
